The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
First screened in January 2012 / Most recently screened in March 2018
Director: David Fincher. Cast: Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgård, Robin Wright, Geraldine James, Joely Richardson, Steven Berkoff, Donald Sumpter, Yorick Van Wageningen, Goran Visnjic, Josefin Asplund, Per Myrberg, Julian Sands, Moa Garpendal, Simon Reithner, David Dencik, Inga Landgré, Bengt C.W. Carlsson, Elodie Yung, Ulf Friberg, Embeth Davidtz. Screenplay: Steven Zaillian (based on the novel by Stieg Larsson).

Twitter Capsule: (2012) Sleek makeover for Larsson's obese obsession with evil. Textures, rhythms as tight as bondage gear.

Second Capsule: (2019) Cannot trim all fat or fix odd proportions from Larsson's story but Fincher makes a chic go of it.

VOR:   I find this at least as interesting a meditation on digitality and millennial affects as Fight Club or The Social Network. Proves the value of remakes, too.
