El mar la mar
First screened in November 2018
Directors: Joshua Bonnetta and J.P. Sniadecki. Experimental documentary set in and around the Sonoran Desert, conveying the experiences of undocumented migrants trying to enter the U.S., guards employed to stop them, and local residents observing both.

Twitter Capsule: A desert at the US/Mexico border, site of personal and political apocalypse, filmed with disarming beauty and detail.

VOR:   Ambitious approach to formal abstraction, equal parts Benning, Herzog, and Brakhage, applied to a politically loaded subject in revelatory ways.
