First screened in September 2004
Director: David Mackenzie. Cast: Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, Peter Mullan, Emily Mortimer, Therese Bradley, Stuart McQuarrie, Pauline Turner, Ewan Stewart, Jack McElhone. Screenplay: David Mackenzie (based on the novel by Alexander Trocchi). Twitter Capsule:
McGregor's a deft cipher, and first half attains a kind of sooty sensuality until tone and tale go haywire in last act.
Mackenzie is promising. Nice to see Swinton, McGregor from new sides (especially some sides). Incomplete, but tries to braid disparate tones. Old-fashioned in some ways: a blessing and a curse.
