The Night of the Iguana
First screened in May 2006 / Most recently screened in June 2014
Director: John Huston. Cast: Richard Burton, Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr, Sue Lyon, Grayson Hall, Cyril Delevanti, Skip Ward, Mary Boylan, Fidelmar Durán, C.G. Kim, Gladys Hill, Billie Matticks. Screenplay: Anthony Veiller and John Huston (based on the play by Tennessee Williams).

Twitter Capsule: Lays bare all the play's weaknesses, but Burton and Hall merit attention and Gardner has a real good time.

VOR:   Ludicrous on the whole, but best elements (photography, Burton, Gardner) are intriguing and impressive. Odd reflection of midcentury discourses around sex, doubt, Mexico.
