First screened in December 2014
Director: Liza Johnson. Cast: Kristen Wiig, Guy Pearce, Hailee Steinfeld, Nick Nolte, Sami Gayle, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Christine Lahti, Lauren Swinney. Screenplay: Mark Poirier (based on the short story "Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage" by Alice Munro). Twitter Capsule:Dogville-by-Sarah Polley premise gives way to nondescript miniaturism in Good Girl vein. Steinfeld subtly strong.
Even more than quality, this is the department where Hateship stubbornly refuses to come alive. Like too many of Wiig's films, you just wouldn't notice it missing.
