aka Ôdishon
First screened in November 2005 / Most recently screened in February 2020
Director: Takashi Miike. Cast: Ryo Ishibashi, Eihi Shiina, Jun Kunimura, Tetsu Sawaki, Renji Ishibashi, Miyuki Matsuda, Toshie Negishi, Ren Ôsugi, Yuriko Hirooka, Ken Mitsuishi. Screenplay: Daisuke Tengan (based on the novel by Ryû Murakami).

Twitter Capsule: Impressively creepy, with assured directorial hand. Laudable allergy to clear answers, though ending does taper off a bit.

VOR:   Meaningful interventions into gender politics, artistic power-plays, and a society drifting into paranoia and isolation. Quite a Miike showcase.
